Belial, is a seraph, he was cast out of heaven, as punishment for his crime, he is to walk the earth for the rest of time. When his vessel dies, he is put in a new one. Over and over and over again. As retaliation, Belial killed the vessel. Making God send an archangel down to check on him when he turned 12 each life. But, his 10,058th incarnation was different... The archangel Gabriel brought news that God had gone missing, leaving an opening form Belial to return to heaven...
