John Bennett, at the age of 46, was diagnosed by his doctor with cancer. Over his the short remainder of his life, he records his thoughts and emotions as he goes through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally acceptance. I am writing this piece to be used for my local literary meet's dramatic monologue. This piece will contain six or seven sections, and I plan on updating it monthly Disclaimer: i do not have cancer, nor do i personally know someone with cancer. My prayers are with those with cancer and their families. If you have or know someone with cancer and notice something inaccurate, please tell me.

For your consideration for the Wattys of 2017. Diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 25, I kept a journal through surgery and treatment, wrote humorous (or just uncomfortable) short stories and irreverent poems about my experiences. I'm not going to pretend that I have amazing words of wisdom about dealing with the deadly disease. This is a raw, unreserved look at dealing with some real shit in a funny way.
