Mature
Far into the future, ten thousand children are chosen randomly every five years to be Changed and become cyborgs, and are taken away, never to see their families again, then sold as property once they have been Changed, undergoing numerous cruel surgeries. One girl will have to fight to end the custom of Changing, which has been going on for decades. But will she be strong enough to destroy the immortal man responsible for her slavery even when she is already falling in love with his son? Will she be able to overcome her mistrust of humans and work with him to end his father’s reign?
The only son of the cruel, ageless scientist who created the Change both hates and fears his father and all the pain and suffering he has made possible. But when he meets a Changed girl who’s only mission in life is to destroy his father, will he be able to stand up and join her on her perilous journey? Or will years of discipline as well as an instilled distrust for her kind force him to destroy her instead, even when his feelings for her grow stronger by the day?
