*This is NOT a tale about some mermaid business. This is a Shape of Water fan fiction, so please don't get them mixed up.*

Storm Bailey Perez never really got to live a normal life. For as long as she could remember, she had a best friend. She called this friend, her mermaid. This friend would leave her baubles and gifts handmade from the riverside. Fast forward thirteen years. She's twenty years old and has suffered changes in her life she will never recover from. Her life's passion, marine biology, has become her obsession as she tries to find this mysterious being that has watched over her since childhood. When she finally captures it, she finds something very far from any childhood dream she had. And her life is launched into the wildest adventure that even Storm has ever dreamed of.

NOTE: For my readers that I happen to know in "reality", the experiences that Storm suffers in her life do not reflect my feelings about my life. Storm is her own person in this book with her own character, and it's not meant to represent me in any way.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

Ayesha soon meets others who have survived, each with their own unique abilities. She doesn't know why she's survived or what her purpose is. She doesn't have long to find out. "Just as the wave prepared to crash down and engulf the land, swallowing everyone on it, blinding pain erupted in my head, sending me staggering away from the window. Before everything fell black I heard a familiar voice roar in my mind. 'THE BEGINNING IS NIGH!'" The Beginning of what? WHAT READERS ARE SAYING "I love the Description and imagery..." "Just because we win the war doesn't mean we don't lose everything in the process." - Joey Magnom --------- Practically everyone dreams of having superpowers. Lift a building, breathe underwater, fly. But at such a cost? Morgan would very happily shove it back to wherever it came from. In a close future, certain children and teenagers suddenly begin to exhibit their own unique superpowers. In order to contain them, keep the secret, and abuse these young adults' power for their own advantage, the government hunted them down and opened camps to train and brainwash these 'supernaturals' in cruel ways. It didn't matter if the child was five or eighteen; they'd take them and give them the same horrible treatment. Morgan was hunted and taken. Rylie was not. Morgan Carter was put in the camps and wasn't able to come out the same way she came in. She became their pet telekinetic/assassin, ready to kill and torture without hesitation and knew how to. She forgot her old life, including her name. Rylie Garner paraded as Light Glider around his city-their own personal superhero-escaping being caught with the help of his friends while trying to find his little supernatural sister, who was taken. But then, their stories began to intertwine. --------- Completed/Being Rewritten
