Arden James is a hopeless 13-year-old boy. No one's ever loved him, or ever will. Why would they? He was unusually distant from everyone he met; some didn't even remember his last name.
He's grown up in many different foster homes, each one worse than the last. Being abandoned when he was only a few weeks old, Arden has always been a target - for both kids and adults. He feels so isolated from everyone he meets.
But he doesn't want sympathy - all he wants is a normal life. Unfortunately, normal is far from what he's in store for.
