A Separation of the Sexes

1 parte Completa Per adulti

The permutations of sexuality, gender and society are thrown into a maelstrom in my comedic fantasy. Caught in the crude and passionate events imposed by two symmetrical sexual revolutions, the characters of my controversial satire highlight the absurdities and ironies of the human condition through lively dialogues and evocative prose descriptions. As they experience the extraordinary transformation of their respective societies, their psychology guides the novel's narrative to its fatal conclusion. The reader participates in moments of frivolity and tenderness, not without anti-utopian exaggeration in the tradition of romantic adventure. Imagine two worlds where men and women have voluntarily isolated from one another and become lesbian or gay. This was not so far from reality forty five years ago when I discovered the Bay Area and a gay rights affirmation movement that formed the basis for this parable: When, entangled in a war of genders on opposite sides of the San Francisco Bay in the late 1970's/early 1980's, Jerry and Mitch, Flora and Tess, a gay and a lesbian couple, react to the changes implied by their new society. Will they accompany the movement or fight it? Will they grasp its implications? As they meet, disguised in the manner of a Shakespearian comedy-of-errors gender mix-up, will Mitch and Flora resist a strange, unconsciously heterosexual drive for one another?
