At a disorderly boarding school, a crew of contrary teachers and mischievous students try their best to make it through their days. Mr Haston, who they'd call a seasoned teacher, is a man in his 50s with a caustic personality and a split reputation among his students and colleagues. Although he already has too much on his plate, he has recently taken it upon himself to mentor a freshly graduated teacher - Mr Nicholson. Meanwhile, Headmaster Hastings is on the brink of giving up and letting Mr Haston replace him, but his hunger for money keeps him puffing on his pipe in the office whilst the school is turned upside down.
