Beretta has had anything but an easy life. Her mom passed away when she was young, and was forced to live with her abusive stepfather. At the beginning of her last year of highschool, he finally kicks her out and forces her to live on her own. She decides to take her life into her own hands, and moves from Juneau, Alaska, to a small town called Woodinville, Washington. From her tattoos to her attitude, she does nothing but stick out.

But then, she meets Carter, Jasmine, and Tyler-- her first friends there. They help guide her on her long road towards acceptance, confidence, and recovery. They help her discover that life is worth living, and that second chances are something one shouldn't take for granted.
