The House in the Woods

This short story serves as a writing prompt inspired by a photo from the photo series "The House in the Woods", by photographer Kai Fagerström. The entire image could not fit into the cover, however, I believe it shows enough.

This is actually a prompt from a friend's creative writing class that she suggested I try out, and one of the requirements was that it was to be 500 words. However, I went slightly over with 598. Good thing this isn't actually being graded for anything.
