A little girl discovers that she has magic powers on her fifth birthday. She has the power to disappear whenever she likes to escape the beatings her parents give her. The wizard who lives in the darkness and shadows knows her secret, but everyone else is also keeping secrets and not everything is as it seems in this sleepy little street. Set in the dirty suburbs of urban 1980s Australia, moving from past to present and through multiple perspectives. One girl learns that reality is fluid and the lives we lead are not always of our own making.
