Janis Channing looks like a typical girl. She has friends, a crush, enemies, you know the typical high school teenager drama. 

Well, after one of her best friends (and secret crush) Nathaniël Kurtzberg gets akumatized by Hawkmoth into a villain named Evillustrator, Janis is determined to undo Chloé's mistake. 

At the same time, her other friend, Alex was mysteriously taken that following day. 

What happens when Janis arrives home to see a necklace she couldn't get before? A necklace that grants her power? A necklace that has its limits?

With a necklace comes a kwami. This kwami who serves Janis and previously served other wielders from before. 

With these two pair up, Paris has a new hero named Shifter! 

However, this is only the beginning. When a new hero comes along, it only means more villains, especially ones after Janis and her necklace. 

Along with the hero life, Janis has to balance her school life in the process. Why? 

Well... If anyone found out her secret (particularly Nathaniël, Chloé, or others), Janis wouldn't be risking her life at this point. She would be risking the lives of others. 

Even then, deep down, there's a demon inside Janis. This demon isn't friendly like Janis either. Rather, this demon works with the dream demon Bill Cipher and calls herself Zelia. 

The only way Zelia can escape is by Janis handing her miraculous over to Bill Cipher, where he can then use her necklace for evil purposes.

With many obstacles surrounding Janis, will she break under pressure or stand up to her beliefs?

This isn't your normal watching Miraculous Ladybug Book Marinette's life has fallen apart, she is now the Chinese Zodiac Miracle box Guardian, the Miraculous cure has stopped healing her, Chat Noir no longer loves her, Lila has taken all her friends, her allies identities have been exposed, Fu has died, she is getting sick for some reason, and now Lila is framing her for being Mayura, Hawkmoth's assistant. Marinette's life was getting bad ever since Lila promise to her in which she told lies about what Marinette did but didn't do in which all of her friends except for Chloe, Nino, Alix, Kagami Juleka, Zoe and Luka turned against her and bullied her and not even Adrien who was her crush but got rejected by him and told her to take the high road saying that Lila's lies weren't hurting anyone but they were in which they were hurting her badly. Marinette's ex friends started to bully her and hurt her while Adrien didn't do anything to stop Lila from ruining her life in which the love for Adrien died out because Marinette sees for what he truly is and that is a spineless coward who doesn't do anything but take the liar's side instead. But everything was going to change when someone new arrived who shares some similarities to the Agreste and he will not be like the others who fall for the liar but instead will help Marinette with her problems as well as finding a new love interest because the new guy is very compassionate and kind as well as smart.
