Hanako Kanemaru is a mystery. No one knows her parents, or her past. She just appeared in the leaf village when she was three. Due to her having unique hair, the villagers regarded her as a sign, but no one came forward to care for her. Not wanting to leave the child alone, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third hokage, arranged for her to live with Naruto Uzamaki. The two quickly became great friends, and even call each other brother and sister.
