"Can I ask you a question?" He nods as a response and I pose my question to him. "Why do you care so much about me? You don't even know me."
He gulps and looks away quickly. "Ten years ago when Megan and I were in training, they did something to us. They trained us for three years, constantly pushing us and pushing us, past our breaking points, until we were nothing but heartless killing machines." He explains darkly.
"They knew that everything must have a weakness though, everything has to have something you can use against them. They made sure we had a weakness." He looks pained and saddened by this and I have the urge to comfort him.
Just as he is about to say more I nuzzle into his chest and begin to speak. "You don't have to say anymore until you are ready but can you just promise me one thing?" I ask and he nods instantly. "Promise me you won't leave me. I have nobody, everyone I love is gone. If you leave me, I will officially have nothing. I don't even know you but you are better than being alone. You won't leave me, will you?" I ask in tears.
I feel him reach under my chin and lift my head up to face him. "I will never leave you, I promise."
