Magnus had lived his whole life with his adoptive parents Luke and Jocelyn, and his adoptive sister, Clary, in the smallest town imaginable, Maysville. There, everyone knew everyone. The most well-known family in town was the Lightwoods: Alec, Jace, Izzy, and Max and their parents Maryse and Robert. Alec had swept Magnus off of his feet and they fell in love as teenagers. Then Magnus moved to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer and learn how to run his business. He was supposed to be there for only a year but ended up staying for good, breaking his ties with everyone in Maysville but his family. After ten years, he's back for his sister's wedding. Clary is marrying Jace Lightwood, her high school sweetheart. Magnus knows he has to go back but is scared of how everyone will treat him after being gone for so long, but most of all, he is scared of seeing Alec again.

"Who could ever learn to love a beast?" --- Prince Magnus wasn't exactly grateful of the life that he lived. He was selfish and vain, unappreciative of his staff and the people around him. He felt no love but gained the affection of many, even though he never reciprocated those feelings. He was undoubtably beautiful, but appearances mean so much more than that... Alexander Lightwood was a rather peculiar man in his little town full of little people. No one tends to pay much attention to him, apart from a certain cocky woman who was set on winning his affections, something that Alec definitely didn't want. And when his adoptive father goes missing during a journey to buy supplies for his inventions, he sets out to find him. [No, Alec's not that innocent in here and let's pretend SID is a big organization, okay.] All starts when Lydia Branwell, a lawyer as well, is trying to find the corpse of her lover, John, that have been missing mysteriously and apparently the only organization that wants to help her is the SID ran by Lightwood Family, the one that took charge of the case is no other than Alexander Lightwood. However, the only price Alec want is to marry her, to prove a point that he is not in love with Jace. Of course, as a friend of Lydia, Magnus won't let such illogical thing ruin Lydia. "You-" "And just to make yourself better, also prove it to him and to others that you got no feelings whatsoever with him. All because of that stupid one-sided love you got." Magnus smirks. "I told you i have no feelings towards Jace !" Alec throw his fist to magnus's jaw. Magnus spits some blood and then look straight at Alec in the eyes. "Lydia is my friend, in court, in life, one of my best client and prosecutor. I'm not going to let you steal her freedom. You said you don't love Jace ? Fine. Prove it, Alexander." He looks at me up through his long, blonde lashes from where he's perched on edge of his mothers corner sofa like he shouldn't be looking at me at all. Like somehow he's sinning. "Do you ever wonder what our lives would be like if we'd actually gone through with it?" A question i had asked myself every single day for eight years. I watch it register across his face. "I did. It used to be all i thought about." He admits and rises from his seat to busy himself with straightening out the picture frames on the side table.
