Four Years.

Four Years since Belize became a wasteland, since the plague had taken over.
Scientists called it the fever, I called it the apocalypse.
The government did what they could, but it wasn't enough.
Women were scarce, and the immune were the elite.

The other nations built a dome around us, keeping the infection contained, but in doing so they kept the immune in as well. Fighting for their lives in a fallen country.

Her one night of fun turned into a night of chaos. One that can't be contained and one that took everything from her. And now she must fight for what she has left. Especially when it seems that the whole world is determined to leave her with nothing. A girl has to fight a new world without the ones that she loves. And meeting new people on the way that have the potential to either destroy or help her. -------------------------------------------------- The rain washed away the boiling temperature of the early morning. Leaving a raw humidity that was both a reprieve from the heat, but also a constant reminder of it. Some say the rain falls to keep the heat at bay. I think the rain falls today as a tribute to those affected by the virus and all the tears they cried. A small apology from Mother Nature meant to soothe those scorned by the havoc she unleashed. A comfort meant for all those unsuspecting victims of the sickness. -------------------------------------------------- The highest rankings: #19 in infection #40 in disaster #40 in infected #67 in disease #46 in zombieoutbreak
