"Arion."
The staring begins.
She swallows and begins to speak slowly, carefully, to not scare him, though she's already scared out of her wits. "How do you do?"
Silence.
Scarlet tries again, but this time slower. "I'm--" she points to her chest "--Scarlet. How was your day?"
His white tail flashes along the surface of the water as he snorts.
"I understand English perfectly fine; you know that, right?"

Y/n was always in love with the underwater world. So in love that they brought the deepest and most unknown creatures to the overworld. The reader spends their time with dealing with a couple of 8 creatures while trying to keep them a secret from the overworld. It is hard to consider that they are ready to eat every human head off that stands against the reader. My pink little mermaid (HyunBin)
There was something so inexplicable about this beautiful creature before him. The gills on his neck pulsated with the heaving of his chest. His very pink hair- pastel- trailed in the water around his face and when Changbin looked down- The most beautiful pink tail he had ever laid eyes on. Even In the darkness of the water, the scales glinted and shimmered with hues of pinks and even gold. So, so rare because mermaids and mermen had only ever adorned blue scales to blend with the habitat around them. And maybe Changbin really was hallucinating. Maybe this was just the grim reaper- a really ethereal grim reaper- dragging him down to hell instead of to the surface of the water. Before Changbin could open his mouth and ask 'am I going to die?' His lungs finally gave out on him as he breathed, and inhaled the salty sea around him. Or Changbin is saved by a beautiful merman- and years later, he can return the favor when he finds him injured and unconscious at port.
