When Leah is finally given another chance at a family, it's too late for her. She's lost hope of anyone at all loving her. She shuts herself out, wondering if things would be different if she was adopted sooner. At least until a green eyed boy changes Leah's entire world. Leah leads a mostly normal life. At 15, she's adopted by the richest family in town. She moves schools and is grateful for new scenery. But with her bratty new sister and droolworthy next door neighbor- and his twin, things are about to get way more interesting. Join Leah as she makes new friends, gets put in awkward situations, deals with inner struggles and family struggles, and ultimately gets a second chance at life. - - - I turned the corner, running head-first into a wall. Ouch. It only got better- sarcasm- when I realized that it wasn't a wall. It was him. He smirked as my face got redder and redder. I could feel our breath intermingled. "Well isn't this nice?" I huffed. "What are you doing?" I asked annoyed, and slightly scared. He leaned forward, his lips slightly touching my ear. I shivered as he muttered, "I'm trying to seduce you."

2nd Morningstar writers award 2021 winner Update: Completed --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I stare at him for a while. I'm scared. But I really need to tell someone. Anyone. He's not asking questions about my face, nor prying. But I really want to tell him. To tell him I'm scared. That I live in a hellhole. "Come on choose one. I promise that I won't ask you to repay." Luke pushes a pastry forward. "I need to tell you something," I slowly tell him. "What, your favorite coffee is black? " He chuckles. "No," I swallow hard. I take off my glasses. He stops eating when he sees the big bruise on my face, "If you don't tell me, Abby. I can't help you." "The White's they..... They're the ones that did this to me." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: This story contains violence and abuse content --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do not own the images.
