Edd is dead. And it was tragic for everybody.

And tom has been trying to comfort you through it all. He's been spending as much time with you as possible to make you better.

Tord comes to pay his apologies for what he did in the past. They forgive him, but Matt is keeping an eye on him. By that, he's making sure he won't try anything with Tom. Why should he care?
