In 1054 Romano met young Spain for the first time. 
In 2006 Romano and Spain kissed for the first time under the blue sky of Madrid. It had been more than nine centuries of longing and of waiting. 
Between both dates, a lot of everything happened. They went through it all together. 
 (Essentially, my history class notes, rewritten with the characters living through them so I have a less depressing textbook to study. Follow Antonio and Lovino throughout their history as they struggle to keep their bond through war, diplomacy, religion, revolutions, and terrible bosses.
