Not really much of a writer so don't expect much.
Alaya is a young girl growing up in the muggle world with her mother... Who isn't her actual mom (but she doesn't know that yet). She receives her letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the sorting hat can't quite make up it's mind. So not really understanding herself, she asks permission to spend a couple of days in each of the houses before making up her mind. Alaya arrives at Hogwarts as a 4th year, and has private lessons with Snape regularly to get her caught up.
