Many people don't realise (or experience) the depth of meaning in how Jesus died, nor what this means for them. The idea of this story is to be both an emotional appeal and a factual account, with appropriate embellishments, in an engaging, intriguing story about the death and Resurrection of Jesus. Many people don't feel much emotion toward the recorded events. This is an effort to change that. Many people also get caught up on what seem like differences in the Gospels. This is the Gospels (along with part of Acts and other references) consolidated, so that it is clear that there are no contradictions/discrepancies.
Warning: There is violent depiction of death contained in the story.

The New Disciples by robmoyer

Short stories inspired by New Testament scripture. The New Disciples is a collection of stories that were inspired by brief passages in New Testament scripture. So often, as we read about the footsteps and faith teachings of Christ and his disciples, we are exposed to characters about whom we know very little. Sometimes we see only one or two verses about a person, sometimes a paragraph, but these brief passages are sufficient only enough to elicit curiosity about their life experiences. Scripture gives us very little about the wise men who traveled across the middle east in order to bless the baby Jesus, or about Barabbas whose life was spared as a prelude to the crucifixion, or Lydia who encountered Paul during his mission to Philippi. In each case they play a pivotal role in some way as to the furtherance of the greater mission picture in which they appear. In this collection of short stories, Robert Moyer has written plausible scenarios by which we might gain insight into the lives of some of these people and their individual pathways to Christian faith. While technologies and cultures have changed over the millennia, human nature today remains very much consistent with that of the human experience in the days of the living Christ and the legacy of faith he left for us. Through the lives of these characters, we see ourselves reflected on circuitous journeys similar in many ways to those we have followed in leading us to God's gift of the cross.

"You will be the mother of my children," said the man in a commanding tone. His shameless words rendered Emmelyn speechless and shocked, more so, than the kiss he landed on her lips earlier. "I need three children from you." "Eh ... wait.. what? Hold on a minute," Emmelyn, who was moved from her shock, hurriedly rubbed her lips roughly as if trying to remove the devil's marks from them. "I don't want to be your wife! I don't want to marry you, you devil!!" The man frowned and squinted his eyes menacingly. "Who said anything about marriage?" THE NEXT DAY "Let's go," said the prince. "Let's go where?" Emmelyn asked, not understanding. "Let's go make babies." *** SYNOPSIS: The crown prince was cursed on the day he was born, that he will never be happy. What's worse, no woman could touch him without dying. Thus, finding a wife to produce an heir became the royal family's greatest challenge since the prince is the only son. Until one day.. A slave girl who tried to kill him didn't end up dying after they touched. Emmelyn was a princess from one of their colonies who vowed to avenge her family's death by killing the crown prince.. And that's how she ended up in his castle. Seeing that she was the only woman he could have sexual relationship with, without killing her, the prince made an agreement to let her go and free her kingdom from his oppression if she produced for him three heirs. Emmelyn said yes, but every day that they were together, she made plans to kill him and get her revenge. Can Emmelyn get what she wanted, or would she be entangled deeper with the enemy who was deemed as the devil incarnate himself by his enemies when she found out he was actually more of an angel? Blossom and Bloom Graceful and Tender - She couldn't believe her ears, or her eyes. Her husband, the man she loves, the father of her unborn baby, was asking for a divorce. "Mason," She stammered, but he held his hand up in the air. "I'll arrange a place for you and our child to stay, I'll send weekly support for the child. Just sign the papers," He urged her and handed her the pen. She took it hesitantly, hoping that this was only a dream, she prayed to wake up. "I love you," She whispered and signed her name on the allotted space. And though she would miss him, she knew better than to fight for a man's love. Somehow, he didn't love her anymore. It hurt her heart, but once a man made up his mind, nothing could make him change his mind. She even knew that much. She placed the pen down and walked to the door. "The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the World, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:9-14) What that first Easter might have been like. The climax of God's plan for humanity, from Palm Sunday to Peter's reinstatement. He saved you He saved me What about others? by Robbymak

The world was full of trouble. Full of confusion and a catastrophic dilemma. One couldn't imagine at what destructive measure it would disintegrate into. While so many things were done to make the world a better place. At some point, it would later be revealed that the biggest problem was not a lack of educational facilities or a lack of health facilities. Believe it or not, Africa, also wasn't the world's biggest problem. The problem with the world today is sin. Sin brought about problems that would perpetuate into many more generations to come! It's almost unbelievable that someone would leave greener pastures to settle in a beat-down environment like Earth. One would wonder what this being could ever want. If life existed beyond the surfaces of our universe, why stay? If there was the possibility of walking with a glory that outshined the brightness of the sun, why hesitate? God cannot love us anymore than He loves our neighbor. His love tank is so vast that it accommodates everyone. Had He only sent Jesus Christ to the rich or the poor in African households, His love would then be conditioned to those that qualified. What makes His love so unique and strange is that He loves the broken and the sinners. He loves those of us that are unlikeable and unattractive. He persuaded His only son to die gruesomely to have all of mankind at His bosom. In the movies, opening doors and buying a bouquet of flowers is symbolic of love. In families, love is expressed in many different kind of forms. Even animals have ways in which they show affection. While all of that might stand out. It cannot be compared to the love of God. God can feel love, and He is love!

Grave Clothes

15 parts Complete

In John 11, there's a story about Lazarus, a guy that we all might be familiar with. From the scriptures, we know that Jesus loved Lazarus. There are many lessons we can get from that passage of scripture and what stuck out the most for me is the phrase, "grave clothes". Lazarus had died for a few days and when he arose, he came out in his grave clothes. The clothes that represented his sickness. The clothes that represented early demise. The clothes that represented stuff that wasn't comfortable. And many times, we come to God with so much baggage and we live our entire Christian lives in our grave clothes. Jesus commanded that Lazarus's grave clothes be loosed. Lazarus came out bound and chained. How many of us are still linked to our past? How many of us are still carrying the weight of sin and guilt that Jesus came to die for? In this book, we'll discover what it means to live in freedom.
