Ne'lea moved into a new foster home. When her social worker Avery told her that there was another teenage girl named Brittanie there she was excited to meet her and make friends hoping they could be best friends and talk about who is the cutest boy in school. But when Ne'lea sees a boy walk into the living room...she stares with a questioning expression. She learns that teenage boy is actually a girl, the one she will be living with,  Brittanie or as Brittanie prefers, Brett.
Ne'lea is a straight girl living with a lesbian and she isn't quite sure how to handle it, nor the lavish things Lillian (foster mom), and John (foster dad) make her accept. Ne'lea wasn't expecting to end up liking a girl, but she does. She isn't sure how to handle it.
