Rain beating down on the pavement was what broke me out of my trance as I stared out into the road, hands clenched in fists I stood and walked into the somewhat busy road and waited for any passing vehicle to take me away from this wretched place that we're forced to call home.

I hear the honk of a truck and I know that it's too late to back out of my decision, so I simply close my eyes and welcome the feeling of being swallowed by darkness, surrounded by silence...
Only, it never comes. Everything I expected was completely different to what I received, the impact of the truck is replaced by a strong arm securing itself around my waist. When I opened my eyes I expected blackness, what I had been met with was a set of grey eyes that quickly flickered from the road to my own. The worry that was etched onto his handsome face was easily recognisable, but I was only able to see it for a moment before the darkness I had welcomed so easily before, finally took me into its clutches...
