Callie feels abandoned when Dean suddenly switches colleges and has to move seven hours away. Now only living with her father, things seem fine…for now
Her Dad gets angrier and angrier with her at every passing day. He begins to become abusive, hating to see her face because she looks so much like the woman he loved…and who betrayed him.

As things at home begin to deteriorate too, Caleb’s situation goes from bad to worse. The only person who knows the truth, Dr Palmer, leaves him to stand on his own two feet, declaring him cured. He starts back at college full time, and becomes ever closer with Stephanie, the only person whom he feels that he can trust. When his own father attacks his mother, Caleb begins to think that the police are on to him, trying to unravel his past, thinking that they have realised what happened to cause him to try to commit suicide. However, they are just trying to build a case against his father. In desperation, Caleb tried to reach out to Dr Palmer, against the advice of his mother. As his life spirals out of control, Dr Palmer makes him realise that the only way he can carry on is to come clean and reveal his secret.
