A storm is brewing. A storm of salty air, arguing and heartbreak in Florence, Italy. Benedetto knows what will come. He knows the storm will tear the family apart, but there's nothing he can do. The storm he sees is figurative. He knows that the eye of the storm is the calmest part. But after that? Benedetto knows that it's stronger. He can't stay any longer. Donatello has heard of the word storm before. But what he thinks it is is different from what everyone else sees. The storm he sees seems real. The storm he sees, is real, to him. The storm he sees is his mind. He must venture into the city to find shelter from his storm. He must get out, away from Italy, but there is no escaping his storm. Their paths intertwine, both on a runaway trail. They find something in each other, and the storms go away.

William Dalton, an aspiring writer, moved from Manchester to London to find inspiration for his first novel. He meets Michael Eaton, a fashion designer who takes pity on him and offers him ways of finding inspiration. Michael offers to take William on a trip to Florence, Italy. Little does William know that this trip will give him more than just inspiration. This LGBTQ+ story takes place in the 1890s. It handles topics about family trauma, the death of a loved one, manipulation, homophobia/slurs, and long-distance romance, but it also tells us about values, symbolism, friendship, and romance. This story, which started as a short story to pass the time while I procrastinate, has become something greater than what I expected, but I have found the motivation to see it through as a fully-fledged novel. I hope this romantic story gives you just as much joy as it brought me when writing it. - Fa Highest rankings: #1 symbolysms #1 1890 #5 19century #632 19thcentury
