Her path and future targets had been deemed untraceable for a long time, however, a certain thief in the imperial capital has shown that she knows more about the feathered one and her origin than anyone could have guessed. It does not take long for it come to light that these three events are not just connected, but different pieces to the same puzzle.

Eighteen-year-old Christine is a singer in the Paris Opera. A strange man is watching her behind her dressing room and wants her to be his wife. He tricks her into believing that he is an angel from heaven, the Angel of Music. Eighteen-year-old Raoul is in love with her, but marriage is frowned upon because of the class difference between them. He is from minor royalty and she is from a poor family. He is suspicious of this "angel" and tries to rescue Christine from him when he kidnaps her and takes her to his home in the caverns underneath the opera house. This is my adaptation of the original book "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux. The book is now in the Public Domain. I have edited it for grammar and deleted a few parts that didn't contribute much to the story. I also changed the ending a bit. The illustrations are original pen and ink drawings by me. The story is not a "great romance," like the publicity from the stage play would like you to think. It is more of a crime/mystery/detective story.Complete

Although this is a work of fiction, most of the locations, many of the adventures, and some of the characters are real or rooted in reality. David's behaviour and relationships are shaped by his autism, alexithymia, and asexuality, all of which were far less understood when this story is set, and I write of these from my own experience. The reminiscences, stories, and timeline draw on events from my own life, though some have been rearranged to suit the novel. Fortunately, the crimes and the criminals are fictional, and any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental.Complete
