Life was calm for Elezabeth once she settled down. She lived a simple life, farming and providing for her son Jayrid, after her husband's passing. 
Everything is turned upside down when her house is burned down and Jayrid is stolen to become fodder for the King's Army. She has to find him before he's damaged beyond repair, turned into an unfeeling, cruel soldier of destruction. Her quest takes her across the country, meeting people she never expected and isn't quite sure if she should trust.

I wrote this for EVERYONE. To appeal to anyone that reads ANY genre. It combines almost all of them. It's an introduction to the Worlds of Within universe. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mysteries and enjoy its intrigue... The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world . The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Washed clean. Every home, every last trace of what once was. Gamleon is the first to see it ... and survive. His mind is near collapse, his heart broken. He runs. What would YOU do? What could anyone do? Some scrape by in a mythological setting of beasts and medieval men.
