You're a 15-year-old girl just leaving your home in Goldenrod City for the first time. After finding out you were switched at birth, you set out on a journey to find your real family. It's a simple goal, really, until you bump into Gold.

He spins you off your track, into places you've never even heard of. Now while trying to find your way again, you have to juggle all sorts of things; new friends, annoying battles, the wilderness of Hoenn, Kanto, and Johto, and one pesky playboy; all while dealing with your own struggles. And what is with that man who keeps following you?
