Prince Charming of Kaugel is on a quest. He has to leave the safety of the Castle of Hearts, battle a dragon, rescue the princess captured by said dragon and return home, bringing back the spoils of war and basking in the glory of his conquests. Pretty straightforward, right? Except, Prince Charming isn't your run-of-the-mill prince, the dragon might not be the bad guy and the princess isn't the delicate flower the King seems to believe she is. Between his brother's many, many disgruntled exes - who seem to either want to kill him and chew his bones or marry him - a few thousand fairies that really know how to hold a grudge, a best friend and long-time companion who happens to lay golden eggs every now and then and some villains lurking in the shadows, his quest might not be as straightforward as he originally thought.

Once upon a time a snow king fell for an apathetic servant, then a prince-turned-bear found true love in a fellow prince who almost shot him in the face. Almost. Then, of course, one can't forget a monster who found himself wanting to be more human. Bit by bit. For love. Protagonists quirky and not, sarcastic and witty and a bit too self-aware. Every fairy tale has their typical happy ending but it looks as though these ones had to take detours and backtrack on the way to theirs... oh well. As long as it ends well, who cares if it's a little bit odd. Each story is its own stand-alone tale of romance, though there may be bonus shorts for some.
