In a world, a long, long time ago, lived a crystal. The lands flourished and bloomed until the crystal cracked, the shard lost to time. There came two races with the crystal cracked, the Skeksis and the Mystics. With both races dying, only one could save them. His name was Keith, the last known living Gelfling. He was the chosen one. And he has no clue. NOTE: This takes place in the Dark Crystal universe but still has my own twists to it. I'm basing this story solely off the movie and my own imagination. A few tidbits of knowledge that would make this story make a lil more since are: -This one-shot is only based off the movie, not the comics nor the upcoming (as of 2019) show. -All of the species named here (Gelfling, Skeksis, Mystics, Podlings) are all more humanoid than what is canon in the Dark Crystal movie but you can still image them as you wish. -The Skeksis are the Galra. (The Mystics AREN'T the Alteans though.) Image the Skeksis as more Galra-like or more Skeksis-like, do what fits your imagination. DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the Dark Crystal (nor do I own Voltron), which includes the cover art and many aspects of the story, nor do I own any characters used in this story. This is a prequel to my other story known as Futuristic world (Furry x human). I HIGHLY recommend reading that story first before this one, otherwise this story will make zero sense at all. Also if you don't really like the first story, then you probably won't care about this one anyways. This story will follow Dome and his backstory before he met Y/N in Futuristic world. This way you can get to know Dome from my original story a little bit more. I do not own any of the art used in this story. credit goes to the original and talented artist. The art used for Dome (The protogen in the book cover) was created by GoldApollo. He has more protogen art, and I highly checking out some of his art. ________________________________________ Dome... He is a simple protogen with a sense of humor. He's a man with his own flaws, just like everyone else, but he has a weird way of seeing the positive of everything... Well... Not everything. Dome's bestie known as Conner lost his wife and reluctantly started taking therapy after Dome, the good friend that he is, forced him to. Conner makes small improvements overtime... Until one day where the downward spiral for both Conner and Dome begins. Conner loses his last bit of family left.. his daughter.. to a mysterious killer who manages to hide his trace. Conner, now seeking any kind of closure, loses his mind. Finally reaching a breaking point and blaming Dome for everything. Threatening to kill him for what he had done. Dome, despite feeling guilty, doesn't give up hope. He will do what the police couldn't, and find whoever killed the daughter of who used to be his best friend, but is now hunting him all around Night Glow City, and never stopping until Dome is dead. Dome has to get to the bottom of this murder mystery himself... But little does know what he will go through, or the other downward spiral that he will find himself going down afterward. _______________________________________

Sollux was by the ocean, sitting on the dock one day. He doesn't really have the greatest life on land, he was fired from his job, he needed money to pay rent for his apartment, he didn't have many friends, and things just didn't work out for him anymore. As he gets up to leave from the dock, he falls into the ocean, but then he's saved by some mystery person and when he finds out it was a merman who saved him, he becomes great friends with him and finds out that his name is Eridan. But then, Eridan's father disapproves of their friendship and does something horrible. Sollux then finds Eridan with tons of cuts and bruises all over him, on the beach and helps him out. He does all of this while keeping him secret from everyone else except for his best friend, Karkat. After some time, he realizes that he can't stay on land if he wants to keep Eridan safe. Sollux will have to choose whether to stay on land and look for a different way to help him, or to become a merman himself and live in the water for the rest of his life. Crystal Bearers are protecters of the universe and all that magical stuff. A crystal fuses itself to a person, giving them the powers of that crystal and the ability to fuse with other Crystal Bearers. (Cool right? My friend made this all up, none of this was my idea, so you can say a big thank you to her for making this happen.) So the spiral light at the center of the universe was shattered into 9 shards and the universe has been in chaos ever since. Because the spiral light shattered, the Crystal Core was formed, and the Galra have been invading peaceful planets to them more power for the empire, and all that stuff. So Crystal Bearers are sent out on missions, freeing captured planets, freeing prisoners, recruiting new Crystal Cadets, stopping space piracy and other junk like that. I don't want to spoil anything else, so you have to read the book to find out what happens!

Grudgingly, they accept her offer to train them. However, a new threat to the universe arises soon after they land on Toumia, one that is completely unrelated to Zarkon and the Galra Empire. One of the many societies on the planet with purple grass has developed a way to help the universe, but the Voltron Team knows that this will do anything but help the universe, and that they must stop it at all costs. Together, the five Paladins make up Voltron, Defender of the Universe. And what do defenders of the universe do? They defend it. * * * The timeline for this fanfiction within seasons 1-2 of VLD are unknown, for reasons that will be clear by the end of this particular fanfiction. As such, the characters will know how to do certain things, and not know other things. Because of this, there will be spoilers for some things but not others, and seeing as this happens somewhere within the spacetime between the episodes of seasons 1 and 2. It's weird. Hang with me, it'll all make sense by chapter sixteen. Maybe fifteen. I haven't written that far out yet. And just as a forewarning: in this, I will be doing several play-on-word jokes that may seem offensive. THEY ARE NOT.
