When Claire Roberts is forced to take a shortcut on her way home from work at the local bakery, she accidentally witnesses something she definitely shouldn't have.
Shocked and afraid of what she saw, Claire is split between checking herself into a loony bin and going to the police. Either way, it won't stop the cruel fate that is bestowed upon her. The council is fully aware of what she saw, even though she's doubting what she saw was real or not.
The council sends the ruthless hunter, Maxwell Maverick Scarborough to take care of her. It shouldn't be hard considering she's just a human, even if he has to keep himself hidden from her while doing it. All too soon Mister Scarborough will find out it's not as easy as it sounds. With The Council breathing down his neck, Maxwell is desperate to get rid of this living thorn in his side.
