Kai Matthews is an ordinary teen living an ordinary life. Sort of. Aside from the fact that he is transgender and his mom refuses to accept it. But take that out of the equation and he's about as ordinary as it gets.
He doesn't have many friends, he has his best friend Alex and all his online friends from the LGBT group chat his step dad made him create. Almost everyone in his life is very supportive, even his 8 year old half brother, Nick. People at school don't think twice about it, he said he's a boy named Kai and everyone went along with it.
Things are pretty great for him. But all good things must come to an end. Everyone he cares about gets taken from him and he's the one who gets blamed for it all. In the end, he has to choose whether he'll give up and lose everyone, including himself, or stand up and face his biggest fear to save them.

Pax is a fifteen year old (rising junior) with no sense of self love and also with a shitty family. He grew up in a world where he hadn't heard a lot of things even existed, like anything in the LGBT spectrum, and he'd grown up in churches that exiled the word "gay". In sixth grade, everything finally clicked. He was transgender. Just because he realized it, though, didn't mean his entire life would become perfect. From the time he was twelve on, he was sick and confused and altogether terrified of what he's become. After he came out to all of friends, most of them ditched him until his only friends were the school's gay power couple and a nonbinary internet friend he'd never even talked to in real life, and only them to help him and figure out everything that needs figuring out. In this coming-out story, I delve basically into what was my young teenage years - so I included quite a lot of things I went through. Jacob Mitchell wanted to be the random guy you would pass on the way to chem lab every Thursday. Familiar but completely unknown. That was why Everett University was the perfect place for him to play hockey. The team may have been Division 1, but the majority of its students forgot the team existed. The team is entering its thirteenth straight season without a single win. They're dead last in the New England Conference and just about dead last in Division 1 programs across the country. It is the perfect place for Jake. He gets money for his education and he gets to play hockey without living with the same issues he dealt with back home. Life is good. Until the team wins their first game of the season because of him. He really didn't mean to score one goal against the best team in the conference, let alone rack up a hat trick in his first collegiate game. But suddenly, he is in front of cameras during a post-game press conference and his name is being thrown around college hockey circles online and added to the draft predictions. But it's just hockey talk, right? Totally not a big deal. Until someone manages to leak the biggest secret he'd been keeping. Now the entire world knows he's a trans man and no one is letting him forget it. He's screwed. His plan for a life of privacy and without issue had failed. Now he has to deal with his overnight fame while trying to get his degree in mechanical engineering and try to keep living his life as normally as possible while the entire world knows every single one of his secrets. He really just wanted a normal freshman year, but with the support of his team maybe things can start to feel a little bit more normal than they do.Complete

While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. One of Kai's trouble making friends Tilly, discards a list of tasks to complete in order help Isabella uncover something huge. During all of this there are scenes that Isabella realises that she has caught feelings for multiple characters from different genders (cis+trans) hence the title "Battle of the Queer". I have a lot of chapters but they're all very short chapters. So the book moves on rather quickly. (I was kinda young when I wrote this, so I'm sorry if it's a little cringy)Complete

This story and it's characters are basically full of my own insecurities and fears, so yeah enjoy. If you start getting anxiety because of it I am so sorry, and know that I am here for you. I understand all the pain of bull crap so many have to deal with, on top of rigorous classes and a mental disorder. Eden is your typical American teenager... Kind of. His family hates him.
