I wrote this story for a competition just last year. Unfortunately, it didn't receive much of a reply. So I thought "Why on Earth not post it, eh? I'm sure somebody out there might wanna read."
Well, what's it about? It's about a romance that has grown wings. About a love that may soar higher than most clouds can reach. About an intimacy that's softer than the ruffle of a feather or the faint clicking of beaks. About a couple who truly are, as happy as a lark. And about a heartbreak that plummeted faster than a rock might tumble through the sky.
And all in just over two thousand words! Short, sweet, and lighter than a feather. So, without further ado, I proudly present, the tale of The Three Poets. Enjoy!

My Wildest Dreams
Josh and Katie have been best friends since he first moved nextdoor midway through freshman year. They were attached to the hip and acted like they've known each other for years. Josh Parker was the all American boy who all the girls wanted, including Katie. As Katie and Josh's friendship blossomed she quickly formed a crush on Josh, but as the years progressed, her crush turned into love. Five years after leaving Miami brokenhearted after finding out about Josh's engagement to his childhood sweetheart. Katie unexpectedly reunites with her former best friend, and Josh quickly realizes that his feelings for her are not just platonic anymore. * As I'm walking out of work I get a call from my brother to pick my niece up from school. For the past 4 years that little girl has had me wrapped around her finger and I wouldn't have it any other way. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic on the way over so I'm late for pick up. Once I get to Melanie's classroom I fill out the sign out sheet that's on the wall and make my way into the classroom. I faintly hear Melanie laughing so I know she's not upset from me being late. "Hey I'm so sorry. I got stuck in traff..." I said stopping mid sentence, stunned at the woman in front of me. Standing in front of me is someone I considered one of the most important people to me back in highschool. As soon as I looked into those Caribbean blue that I used to know so well, I knew it was her. It takes her a few seconds to realize who I am. She stands there stunned. We continue to stare at each other until she breaks the silence. "Josh?" She asks not believing it's actually me. "Hey Katie girl." "Taira. Taira, listen to me. You can't just took something that isn't yours, especially from nature. Especially not while an unknown girl is watching you." "...Why not?" "Taira, there's only one explanation for your sudden color blindness: you're cursed big time." - "Hey, you're not allowed here." A voice said. She did not reply. "Miss, this is a guy's dorm, what are you doing here," said another voice. - " He has got eyes the colour of honey. These eyes, they glare a lot. It shone a glorious brown and look like caramel coated with honey under the sun rays. When these eyes are directed at you, you just can't look away. In crowds, these eyes roll a lot. I don't think he likes crowds very much. " - " It has always been about your voice. One I cannot describe. It have just this nice undertone and slight shiver in it, that make me love hearing your voice. Over and over and over again. I will not get tired of your voice. That shiver in your voice is my symphony, calming me and claiming my attention. That voice that which churns my stomach just listening to your voice calling my name. " - "Why thank you, I can't help but notice this is some sort of compliment, albeit not nearly clear as any other compliment." She acknowledged. "Don't flatter yourself too much. A Self-love Story
Bliss. Delight. Contentment. Euphoria. Elation. Joy. Glee. Felicity. Jubilation. These are all words synonymous to the word happiness. But what is true happiness? Happiness is that feeling of butterflies fluttering around in your chest, trying to break out. Happiness is that invisible fluid rushing in your veins, making you shiver in the most wonderful way. Happiness is the force that pulls your cheeks up into the widest smile and makes your eyes twinkle. Happiness makes you light-headed and giddy, it is in fact like alcohol. Well then, I am utterly and completely drunk. When you're happy, everything feels amazing. Even small insignificant things like getting up in the morning. The golden hue of sunlight streaming in through the curtains feels like a soft caress from the hand of a lover. The birds seem to chirp sweetly outside, a melody to which the leaves sway as if mesmerised by their music. The curtains tango with the wind beautifully. Every little thing seems perfect. And that's a word I'd use to describe my life. Perfect. To give you a little introduction about me, let me start by explaining the most important aspects of my life. I have a loving family. There's my sarcastic, yet surprisingly sweet brother, my beautiful mother (both in looks and spirit) and my stern, yet humorous father. I have the best best friend, Charlotte and I have an amazing boyfriend, Theo. I'm quite beautiful and popular too which I'm not saying to brag, I'm just stating the truth. So that is my life. The life of Tia-Jade Garcia. *** What she didn't know was that every high has a low and that the higher you rise, the lower you fall and the more painful that fall is. Follow her story as she loses everybody she ever cared for and thereby her happiness. See her fight all of her demons by herself.
