Without Glamour

Akiva has always led a normal life, even though she's always felt like she's been on the outside looking in. She has one true friend, Zaria Thorn, another outsider, whom she's known since Kindergarten. Zaria has always been there for Akiva, having her back, sticking up for her, protecting her. Now High School is coming to an end and Akiva is looking forward to a long, lazy summer with her best friend before they head off to College together.
But Akiva's perfectly normal world gets flipped on it's head when her parents disappear without a trace and an attack is made on Akiva's life.
Now everything isn't what it seems. Her world, her family... even her only friend isn't exactly who she says she is.
Akiva's eyes are opened to a whole new world, a world she was born into but had no knowledge of, a world that desperately needs her help. A war has been waging secretly for years and only Akiva can end it, but first she has to choose a side.
