Camila lost her parents at a young age to a seemingly random, gruesome home invasion. She's lived with her best friend, Dinah, ever since.

Now, years later, they move to Miami, hopefully leaving the worst of her grief behind. Camila is determined to start fresh and be more than the "poor orphan freak" she was in California.
