Tutto era come sempre. La luce tremolante, le maschere a mucchi, il tavolo di legno polveroso. Ma l'artigiano non c'era. Lo sgabello era vuoto. Sul tavolo due maschere; non saprei se fossero concluse, poiché tra una maschera appena iniziata e quelle riposte sullo scaffale non vi era alcuna differenza. Erano tutte identiche e ognuna rifletteva allo stesso modo la presenza delle altre, come se ognuna ne fosse reciprocamente legata e non potesse sussistere di vita propria...
