For thousands of years the people of the sea have lived separated from the humans above; believing their influence to be a corruption and their people a disease. Humans have put merfolk away into the category of myth and both worlds live in peace, until they don't. The world of the sea is in danger, it's magic is slowly dying and taking it's people with it, the desperate merfolk look for a solution and find a chance for one in an old prophecy. it says that if a mermaid can get a human man to give their life and blood to the sea then their world will be saved, but if she fails then the world of the sea will cease to exist. To save her people, Ana, daughter to the sea's rulers, will travel to world above and, to save her people, take a human life.
