Lynne Memwick is a nerd.  She lives alone and goes to college for writing. 

She meets Chase Alder and can't figure out why she even likes him. 

He's an ass.  He's got a girlfriend.  They may live together because Lynne lost her house, but she hates him. 

But when she uncovers how Chase sees her, by a text she happened to see, a conversation between Chase and his friend.

Lynne is appalled and determined to do everything in her power to put a barrier between Chase and herself.

Can Lynne keep the wall up without it crumbling?

Then enter Sam. Kind, caring, and throws candy through her window.

And she finds herself uncovering what happened between Chase and Sam, and falling in love with both.

Kaylee moves back. Sam tells Lynne that she's better off with Chase. Lynne soon gets back with Chase, but not without her doubts. She is afraid to bring Chase to meet her family.
