Thousands of seasons have passed since Firestar's and Bramblestar's time. The memory of the time they walked the forest has disappeared from many of the lake cats' mind. But, their blood still lasts in the blood of their kin. StarClan has sent Fernpool an ominous prophecy foretelling darkness is coming. Will the prophesied cats find their purpose and defeat the darkness or will the clans finally fall to this great evil?
