It truly is amazing how quickly your life can get flipped upside down.   Actually, I take that back. In my case, it was more like my life was flipped upside down, turned inside out, spun around in circles, and blown up.  I wish I was kidding.  One minute I was an ambitious fifteen-year-old, working part time at the Marine Research Institute, and the next, BAM! I was preparing to risk everything to help a specimen I caught in the first place escape from the facility.  And it wasn't any ordinary specimen like plankton or bioluminescent fish, either.   It was a mermaid.

And the people who came back insane, they would always wander over the fact that the monster had not even a scratch on him. That person was Will Solace. So basically, this story is based on the cover art of the book. I just thought it was such a great idea and wanted to put it to story. Then in his eyes I saw my reflection. And in that reflection I saw something. I saw my vampire fangs slowly turing back into my regular teeth. Then Jorge and I used our witch and wizard powers to make to body disappear.
