Briar has to move to a new place with her mother after she has found a new job. One that can benefit both of them. She now has to go to a new school which she is not looking forward to and meets a boy with who she wants to try new things. Will almost looked sad with my reaction to the flowers: "Those are poppy flowers, Claire." I still looked at him with many questions, not understanding the bad thing about flowers. "We grow these many poppy flowers," he explained, "because they are the main ingredient for heroin, it's the entire reason my family and I moved here to this little shit town, it's the perfect and place to grow them." I didn't know how to react to this and I also didn't know how this would scare me off, which, I think, he was trying to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Claire's life is turned upside down when she bumps into the new boy, Will, at her school. All around you could see boys of his age probably flirting, playing games, hanging out with friends and throwing parties like their life depended on them. But he was a nerd. He was a straight A student. And she was the bad girl of the school, Claire Cooper. When one meet turns out to be Claire claiming him hers, he is left devastated and knowing that not to mess with "The Claire Cooper", Lucas has no option but to give in.
