"GOD DAMN IT CASS." Dean yelled raking his hands over his face. Cass stared at Dean, taking in the broken man in front of him. Sam stood beside Dean, distraught. Dean took a deep breath before continuing. "You don't understand." He ground out. Cass stared at the floor "I don't, but I can't risk the whole world for her. We will find another way." Deans head snapped up and his eyes held fury, both Sam and Cass flinched as dean roared. "I DON'T GIVE A SINGLE DAMN ABOUT THE REST OF THE WORLD, SHE'S IN DANGER AND ITS MY JOB TO PROTECT HER. THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO SAVE HER AND IT KILLS ME. SHE IS IN PAIN BECAUSE OF ME. AND I WILL BE DAMNED IF BY TOMORROW SHE ISN'T IN THE BACK SEAT OF IMPALA, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SHE IS THE ONLY THING KEEPING ME SANE IN THIS GOD FORSAKEN WORLD. Dean stood over her grinning, savoring the crisp screams around him as the young girl clenched her jaw and squeezed her eyes shut. The demon was carving a bracelet in her wrist with lined cuts. It looked like bloody war paint. In all the ways that the green-eyed demon had torn her soul to shreds, this was different, yet she didn't question it long and closed her eyes again, biting her tongue to not giving him the satisfaction of her screams. "I got bored", the damned man said, she could hear a shrug in his low voice and ignored it, entering her thoughts again. "Thought I'd draw a bit", he laughed. Max breathed in slightly and felt ash fill her lungs and then escape back into hell, realizing that any pain was gone. Still, she opened her eyes to see Dean staring at her wildly, incredulously. His mouth was slightly open and his hands, still holding the blade hung slightly at his side as he stared at her incredulously. She didn't care though, she turned her head to look away from the man, feeling her burned flesh grow agitated at the motion, but it felt like nothing more than a tickle against the agony that she knew would only stop momentarily. She looked back at him, expecting another snicker or the feeling of metal clotting her veins once again but saw instead Dean with wild eyes darting up and sideways. He looked vulnerable, he looked human. That's when she heard a quiet voice, gruff in nature but gentle. "Hello, Dean" she heard it whisper and she looked up at it as Dean fell to his knees, ears pouring blood. A hand reached down to him grabbing his shoulder roughly and he looked over at her, terrified. " Maxine!" Dean shouted and grabbed her arm only slightly above her elbow and she woke up in the woods, alone, with a soft whisper of a voice still ringing in her ears, "Dean Winchester is saved along with another, we must find Maxine Byrne."
