The Aspirians have overthrown the government, bringing the country into a terror that has become a part of everyday life. The rules are simple, you do your job and you remain one with the living. But there is no room for imperfection, if you are not successful of your career, you disappear and never heard of again.
For Claire, this is a normal part of life. That is until her brother is killed and she finds out that he was part of the Ruthless- an organization that opposes the government and kills important members of society.
