Interesting romance novella set in a universe where you don't have to search for your soulmate, looking tirelessly through dating and trial error, heartbreak and loss. In this world your soulmate is assigned to you at birth, and you spend your life with them from the start. You're in the same classes throughout school and even you live down the street. It's just the way things work.
But one pair, Bellany and Gabe, have it out for each other. This is the story of their growing up together, hating every ounce of the other, not wanting to accept that they are bound to each other, legally, soulfully, and emotionally.

He just stood there. Looking at me. The way I had reacted had put him in a state of shock. "I...
