Under the false promise of freedom, the five political prisoners that were deemed enemies of Soviet Russia surrendered themselves to the unknown knowing little of what the researchers were hoping to achieve. The subjects were administered a gas that was still in its testing process.

The gas was believed to be the the major advantage the Russian military was looking for to help aid them in World War II. The gas would keep their soldiers awake on the battlefield for prolonged periods of time.

But upon the completion of the experiment, the subjects had become unrecognizable - the scientists had become so engrossed in their advancements that the prisoners’ humanity was forgotten, as too was the promise of freedom that was within their sights.

All evidence of the test was burned to nothing. The videos. The files. The bodies. Even the lab itself. It was all wiped off of the face of the Earth. The events that had unfolded during this period were secretive and unknown by many however; those that knew, knew it by one name. A name that was spoken once and spoken of never again.

7 Criminals around Russia, Korea, and Japan were all sent to a certain jail in America, "The Unwanted", for having unique diseases that have never been heard of before. Instead of being sent to death, each day they're experimented on by the doctors of the prison. This is to find the demanding cure of the diseases that everyone has been wanting, more specifically the News and social media, to know. An example of the experiments would be the doctors injecting different "vaccines" into the sickened's skin, to see if it helps them or defects them. They get the results back once they draw blood from the tested, diseased subject. They're trapped in cells most of the day after their testing, meaning they're rarely ever out of the cells after being "experimented" on. If they were to disobey this law, then they would be sent to the electric chair. They wouldn't send enough bolts to their heads to kill them though, they just severely damage their health and the way they mentally function. Unfortunately, their memories were whipped out, by the nurses, to the extent of their crimes and people they knew before prison. This leaves the diseased to try and find out why they're there and who they knew before this. Of course, the Nurses don't want this because after the sickened kids committed their crimes, they wanted to commit suicide for an unknown reason. They, the doctors and police, need them alive to find the cure and reason for their diseases to avoid them from spreading or occurring again. Will they be cured or is this thing a whole scheme just to torture some murderers? Who will die or eventually snap? Will the criminals ever find out who they truly were or who they knew? Read to find out.

[Formerly Featured/Award-Winning Novella/#2 in Horror] There is something eerie about this village -- this hole of silent, maddened people. In 1922 my Papa told me of a faceless entity that lurks amongst us in our isolated slice of Russia. The locals have kept this horror alive for a century, though the only ones who claim to have seen the Folveshch have succumbed to a life of sightless silence. My name is Stefan Alyovich and the people around me are changing. They slip into worsening madness every winter, and I ask myself: how much longer before I'm the only sane one left? ... The only one left alone with the Folveshch. ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟ • 21,000 word novella • Rank #2 in Horror • Rank #4 in Mystery • Horror winner of Greatbelt U.F Award 2015 • CBY October Book of the Month 2014 • The Cryptic Awards Best Horror Winner 2017 • Wattpad HQ Winter Escapes Reading List • Wattpad HQ Stranger Things Reading List • Fright Top Horror/Featured Horror/Stranger Things Reading Lists • Mystery Paranormal Mystery Reading List • ThePurgeMovie Urban Legends Reading List • TheGallowsMovie Best of Thrillers Reading List • Blairwitchmovie Top Horror/Thriller Reading List • OuijaMovie Top Horror Reading List • IncarnateMovie Top Horror ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟-
