Dara gently removed Jiyong's hand that's holding hers. Carefully, she took off the promise ring that he gave her and handed it back to him.

"Dara?..." Jiyong spoke, confused.

"I'm sorry, Ji." She said then turned her back at him. She left without saying anything more.

Not too far from where he was, he clearly saw a man walking towards Dara and how this person held her hand while they walk away.

"You found someone new?" He whispered, tears clouding his eyes.

Sandara or Dara is nearing her 30th year. She's the stereotypical never been kissed, no boyfriend since birth, himono-onna. She's brilliant at work. Her boss loves her and her workmates adore her. She's socially inept, preferring quiet café moments with close friends over parties. She has a beautiful face that she hides behind a pair of unfashionable, prescription glasses. When she's not working, she wears either ratty sweats or faded scrubs everywhere. She gives inappropriately sarcastic but on point running commentaries on tear jerker romantic scenes on tv and in the movies. Just when you're about to spazz out, she'll make sarcastic comments about the plot or the characters. She's very vocal about her opinions on "real-life" romantic relationships and has sworn off romance altogether Though she has one weakness. She lives and breathes for kdramas. She doesn't believe in real world romance because koreanovelas ruined it for her. She would rather watch kdramas than deal with stupid men whose maturity stopped growing after high school. Kwon Jiyong or GD is her best friend and flatmate for more than a decade. He's your stereotypical ladies man. He's not too tall but his lean, athletic body makes him seem taller than he is. He's smart, dresses fashionably and oozes charisma. He excels in seduction but sucks superlatively at relationships. Girls go in and out of his life in rapid succession. He still says he believes in love. He swears that once he finds love he won't waste any time and will marry the woman if she'll have him. There was a time when Dara fancied herself in love with GD but seeing his track record she'd rather keep her heart safe. So she made a promise to herself she won't ever fall in love with GD again. There was a time when GD fancied himself in love with Dara but seeing her scoff at real life romance all the time he'd rather keep the friendship than gamble with love. So he made a promise to himself he won't ever fall in love with Dara again.

The rain poured in relentless sheets, masking the grimy streets of Seoul in a blur of neon and shadows. Sandara Park stood at the mouth of a narrow alley, her dark eyes locked on the pulsating nightclub ahead. The air was heavy with the promise of danger, the kind she had never faced this closely before. This was her first time working with Kwon Jiyong, and despite his reputation, she wasn't sure what to expect. "Feeling nervous, partner?" Jiyong's voice was light, but his sharp gaze betrayed his seriousness. "Focused," Dara replied, adjusting her leather jacket. "Someone has to be." He chuckled, flicking a cigarette into the rain. "Relax. It's just a crime syndicate. What's the worst that could happen?" They were undercover officers, walking a razor-thin line between justice and deceit. Their mission: infiltrate Choi Seung Hyun's organization, dismantle it, and expose the corruption woven through the city's elite. But the closer they got, the harder it was to tell who the real enemy was. The bouncer at the club's entrance gave them a hard once-over. "Tokki," Dara said smoothly, slipping into her alias as one of the nightclub's new escort service recruits. "G to the D, muhfucker," Jiyong added with a smirk, playing the role of a reckless gambler. The bouncer's skeptical glare lingered before he stepped aside, letting them into the lion's den. Inside, the thrum of bass vibrated through the floor. The crowd swayed under the flashing lights, oblivious to the predators in their midst. In the VIP section sat Kang Daesung, Seung Hyun's right-hand man, his laugh cutting through the noise like a knife. Jiyong leaned toward Dara, his hand brushing hers for the briefest moment. "Time to shine." Dara nodded, her resolve hardening as they approached the bar to get drinks, a way for them to blend in. Every step felt like a plunge deeper into darkness, but she couldn't stop now.
