It's been almost a year since my mother's been gone. The twins have started to be a hand full. I pulled up to the jail house gate watching Ace and Alfa walk to the car. "Word to everything I love, If y'all go to jail again you're the fuck out." I said sternly. Alfa sucked his teeth putting on his seat belt. "What?" I asked glancing in my rear view mirror. "That was our first time-.." I cut him off making a sharp turn. "It better be your last!" I snapped. He raised his hands to surrender.

The army had had enough. Flynn barely heard the barking orders over the pounding in his ears. The rage, the frustration, the sheer absurdity of it all. Beside him, Leroy smirked, dusting off his uniform like getting kicked out was his grand idea all along. "Pack your bags, boys. You're done." Discharged. Just like that. No medals, no honour, just two troublemakers tossed onto the streets with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a smirk between them. Flynn clenched his jaw. His father wouldn't even look at him. He could still hear his voice, cold and sharp, like Flynn had done something unforgivable, though he had no idea what. But the past was dead. "Guess we'll have to find a new way to make a fortune," Leroy said, eyes gleaming with mischief. And that was how it started. From stealing cars to building an empire, Flynn and Leroy were unstoppable-until they weren't. Because money wasn't the answer. Success wasn't enough. And Flynn was about to learn-sometimes, the ghosts you outrun come back when you least expect them.
