What if we were the first in our part of the galaxy to discover the secret of faster than light travel? What if this discovery was 10,000 years before it was supposed to be? Our neighbors had been watching for centuries and were surprised with our early arrival into the Web of Worlds...

The Year is 2166: To the people of Earth, the universe seemed to be a very lonely place. Astronomers have discovered tens of thousands of planets; many had indications of organic life. SETI had been searching for signals for over 200 years. There had been a few tantalizing bits of radio or radar energy received but nothing ever proven to be of intelligent origin.

But there was an alien civilization out there, in fact many of them linked together in a Web of Worlds. They were watching us quietly, carefully and patiently. It had long been the prime directive of the Web that no developing civilization be contacted until that civilization made it into interstellar space on their own; and that always took time, lots of time. Most Web worlds took 1,000 years or more to go from steam to the atom and none had made it from the atom to a sublight stardrive in less than 5,000 standard years. Every civilization of The Web had proven that faster than light travel was impossible, so there was plenty of time to watch the Earth...

The watchers were astounded with the speed of progress of human science and also horrified at the periods of violence. By 2076 nuclear fusion power was widespread on earth. By 2100 the first interplanetary fusion ships explored the Sol system. The men and women of the Anglosphere Alliance began their first missions in ships approaching 0.1c. At that velocity, manned flight to even the nearest stars would take a lifetime.

What would happen if a beautiful engineer and a brilliant physicist stumbled upon an artificial gravity field which would make a faster than light drive possible...

Earth got First Contact on January 19, 2022. At least, in my science fiction universe! 1st chapters of a lot of stories. The stories that get the most votes will move up on my never-ending list of pending novels. The Adia Series begins with Adia, Scientist. Molly's Miracle Colonies takes place second in this group of stories. Adia, One Of Prophecy is the third installment here. I am preparing to release it Dec 2024 on Royal Road and Wattpad. It is the 2nd volume in the Adia Series. Kia's Biehshah Gift is fourth, and I just finished it in Dec 2024. You voted for it here on Wattpad! Ray, Host, will be fifth. It is mostly finished, which is why I didn't use it for my novel in a month project. Deb, Midwife, Suma, Therapist and Azure, Timelord will come after, as well as Alice, Queen Of Zheiea. Becky's Gift, Bedelia's Dilemma, and Ella's Saga are also part of a larger battle, but I still have to write Elsie's Fella, Stacy's Escape and Yelena's Edge. These 6 stories are all about the people of Esta Faho, now a city in Elshar Zheiea in Rahn Estar Prov. All of these ladies play a role. Granny's SETI Goblin also affects a larger battle in a big way! These novels are also part of my 100 Days on Earth Project. All books that are part of 100 Days On Earth take place at the same time. These first stories that are also involved in various aspects of the a larger battle, begin on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. COVID is still raging. Earth is about to change radically. And, Adia's futures can be changed. I will include the first chapters of all my Battle Of The Cubes stories, then work my way through my catalog, uploading on Tue, Thu and Sat at 1 am. See my DannisWrites reading list for my suggested reading order.

Hello there, Wattpad community My name is LaResistance and this is my very first story. Since this is the first story I am making, don't expect it to be off high quality but I will try my best. This story is going to comprise of some events that took place in the anime of Azur Lane, and I am also going to make the main character well you could say a soldier from Garry's Mod since I want him to from the time of the fan-made film back in the 2000's call "War Of The Servers". You should check it out it is pretty good for a movie made when Garry's Mod was still in it's early stages. Here is the link to it, you better watch it or you are going in this story blind : https://youtu.be/ppUl_CBuyz8. God bless the people who made that movie man god bless them. Enough talking, onto the story. The year is 2021, the Mingbags are back and Garry's Mod is once again at war. This time new updates were added which made the conflict between both the Players and the Mingbags very bloody. We follow a player who was ranked up to Sargent class. Instead of admins taking over the jobs as soldier, they are still able to but other players are able to enlist into the Digital Garry's Mod Militia or the Garry's Mod military. This player is named SirStonksMan and he is a Polish player. He was about to be sent out onto a offensive against the Mingbags but discovered a lab. What he and his comrades didn't know was their was a portal there and they accidently activated it send Sgt. Stonks into another universe. How will he proceed and what is he to do?

The aliens came here for one thing, and one thing only.... Females. ( This story is only available through inkitt or galatea!!!) (some read events may apply) (check update chapter for more details!) Humans believed they were the only intelligent life to exist... that it was impossible for another species to evolve in a way where they could prevail in something as great as space travel. humans believed they were supposed to be the most technologically advanced species and the alpha predators... They were wrong. The Xandisians evolved in ways humans never could have imagined, they are natural-born killers with phenomenal strength and agility. Their kind never went through the same devolution as humans, they never lost their natural instincts to hunt, kill, or breed. With their limitless potential and monstrous strength, they faced few threats and could survive almost any threat that befall their species, almost. After an incurable sickness washes over the planet of xanadis, the majority of the female, young and elderly, and vulnerable population is all but wiped out, leaving a small portion of the male population to face the threat of extinction. With no choice but to look to the stars for a means to save their kind from complete annihilation, the xandisians set out to find a race compatible with their own. after many years and countless failed expeditions, they finally find a species that matches their base DNA on a planet called Earth. The only issue now is how humans will react. (Book 2 LTF series) (CAN be read as a stand alone, but not recommended for nostalgia reasons~) (ps this is UNEDITED, grammar and spelling mistakes will ensue!) (NOTE: THIS IS ITS OWN STORY NOT A CONTINUATION. SAME CHARACTERS BUT DIFFERENT PLOT.)(Last to fall au/spin-off)

It is a magical world where the strong rules. But rampant corruption and chaos exist, where slavery, rape, murder, and discrimination against the weak were all but common. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this great technological civilization are all but manaless, arriving in a world where they are seen as inferior and as slaves. ❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.

Utopia War

53 parts Complete

Humanity emerges from the aftermath of the technological singularity having conquered scarcity, disease, poverty, aging, death, and, or so they thought, even war. With the aid of artificial intelligence and uplifted animals they have founded a virtual Utopia among the stars where people work only for personal development, satisfaction, or selflessly for the benefit of others. An attempt to help another space-faring species has unexpected consequences that threatens to engulf a whole region of space, and the Human Consensus is forced to intervene. When the small conflict grows into an existential threat to their entire civilization, humanity is forced for the first time to ask the question: can Utopia survive total war? I will be posting this story on RoyalRoad.com and this is one of many ridiculous hoops they want me to jump through.
