Worked Up

Avery and Brian were as close as siblings could be. They knew each other like the back of their hands. But when Brian died serving his country as a member of the United States Marines, Avery lost it. She put a cage around her heart and became a stoic, no-nonsense detective for the NYPD. And she was their best, solving case after case with speed and little error. She had little time or want for games or relationships and distanced herself from people. But when forced to work with a person who goes against everything she believes, things will get dicey.

Damian would have been a brilliant businessman and heir to LockHold Inc. if it wasn't for his nasty habit of insulting people. He was smart, a certified genius actually, but that held problems. He believed himself to be superior to everyone and enjoyed pointing out flaws in the men and women he met. One day, out of boredom and a need for something to do, he joined the NYPD as a consultant. He solved some of their toughest cases and with each one, his ego grew. The higher-up's love for him grew as well. Unfortunately, the agents didn't think the same and started to request different partners.

Eventually, no detective in the department was willing to work with him. All except one, Avery Murs. With Damian being the golden child of the NYPD and one of the biggest military companies in the world, the commissioner had no choice. He had to partner him up with her.
Avery didn't like the idea, what with Damian's loose interpretation of the law. But she couldn't refuse her boss.

These are their complicated, morally-questionable, and completely crazy stories. Who knows how it will end, as we twist through every wacky, weird case and situation I can come up with. Will they survive? Maybe. Will they find love and support in each other? Most likely. Will the keep their sanity? Hopefully. And to think, all this craziness started with a knock.
