Sandpounce was born into Darkclan, the villainous clan in a system of three others; Dreamclan, Heatherclan, and Leafclan. Apprenticed at four moons old and given the deputy to mentor him, Sandpounce's life got off to a rocky start. When his mother, Oceanbreeze, woke him up in the middle of the night, the family fled.
But they didn't all make it out.
With his siblings leaving him to join Dreamclan, Sandpounce was now out on his own, wandering the forest alone and afraid. He makes unexpected friends, finds painful heartbreaks, and falls in love in the most bizarre ways.
